Excessive shaking is rough on both the machine and your floor. Three checks clear up nearly every case.
Remove the Shipping Bolts
Brand-new front-loaders arrive with transit bolts installed to protect the drum in shipping, and they have to come out before the first wash.
Fix: Look at the back panel for these bolts and pull them — your manual will show exactly where they sit.
Level the Machine
A washer that isn't sitting level rocks with every spin, which makes the vibration far worse.
Fix: Adjust the feet using a spirit level, then lock them in place with the retaining nuts.
Balance the Load
One bulky item, like a bath mat or a comforter, can throw the whole drum off balance.
Fix: Wash heavy single items alongside a few smaller pieces so the load stays even.
