A sluggish or dead water dispenser is rarely a serious problem. Start by ruling out the filter and the water supply before assuming anything more is wrong.
Replace the Water Filter
A filter that's overdue for replacement clogs internally and slows the flow to a trickle.
Fix: Swap the filter roughly every six months, and run two gallons through a fresh one before you judge the flow rate.
Frozen Supply Line in the Door
Set the freezer too cold and the dispenser tubing that runs through the door can freeze solid.
Fix: Nudge the freezer setting up a couple of degrees and let the dispenser sit unused for a few hours to thaw out.
Low Household Water Pressure
Most dispensers need at least 20 psi of incoming pressure to function properly.
Fix: If your kitchen faucet is also running weak, the issue is with your home's plumbing, not the refrigerator.
