Broken Drive Belt
The thin belt wrapped around the drum eventually snaps with age, leaving the motor free-spinning with nothing to drive.
Fix: A replacement belt is a common, low-cost repair.
Worn Drum Rollers or Idler Pulley
Rollers that have seized up or an idler pulley that's frozen can stop the drum cold and put extra strain on the motor.
Fix: Replace the rollers and idler pulley together while everything's already open.
Failed Drive Motor
A motor that only hums, or produces no sound at all, may have failed outright.
Fix: A motor swap restores tumbling and is best handled by a technician.
