When the turntable stops rotating, heating becomes noticeably uneven. Fortunately, the usual causes are simple and inexpensive.
Reseat the Tray and Roller
The glass tray and its supporting roller ring can slip off their center hub.
Fix: Lift both pieces out and set the tray back down squarely onto the drive coupler.
Replace the Drive Coupler
The small plastic coupler responsible for turning the tray wears down over time and starts slipping.
Fix: A replacement coupler is a cheap, easy part to find.
Check the Turntable Motor
If the coupler looks fine but nothing turns at all, the small motor underneath the floor of the cavity has likely failed.
Fix: A technician can swap in a new turntable motor.
